How we prepare and check your artwork before it goes to print.
Understanding the process
Whether you're sending us designs for digital or silkscreen printing, our design team reviews your artwork to make sure we can output it as close as possible to how you intend. When decorating and firing, we adjust the sizing to make sure everything fits our ware correctly.
Printing digitally or through silkscreen, ceramic printing is always an interpretation of your artwork. Our designers always do their best to adjust colours where needed, so the final print is as close as possible to how it looks on your screen.
Artwork setup tips
Resolution: 300 DPI for line art; 600 DPI for halftones.
File formats: where possible, please always send us a vector image — this gives us the best chance of printing the highest-quality version of your artwork. If a vector file isn't possible, please send a raster file at a high DPI (400dpi+).
Colour palette: limit and label each colour layer clearly.
Bleed & margins: leave roughly 2–3mm clearance around the design.
Practical design tips
Avoid gradients and photo-realism.
Pre-test critical designs for pigment behaviour and kiln response.
Use proof prints on decal paper and test-fire before mass production.
